Spider-Man has one of the greatest rogues’ galleries in comic book history. But thanks to Sony’s villain-only side hustle, some major baddies have been completely fumbled—and are now permanently banned Spider-Man villains from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No matter how much fans beg, these four just aren’t making it to the big leagues with Tom Holland’s Spidey.
💥 1. Kraven the Meh Hunter

He was supposed to be a gritty, grounded villain with real menace. Instead, Sony made him an animal-loving anti-hero? Yeah… no thanks. Aaron Taylor-Johnson tried, but the character lacked bite (pun intended). Plus, he’s already been Quicksilver in the MCU. That awkward double-dip only makes things worse. Even if Marvel wanted to fix him, the movie poisoned the well.
🧛 2. Morbius – Still Not Morbin’

Jared Leto’s vampire doctor was memed into pop culture—but not in a good way. Morbius flopped, hard. And even the end-credits multiverse tease with Vulture felt like Sony desperately yelling, “Look, it connects!” Fans didn’t buy it. Critics didn’t either. Marvel Studios definitely isn’t about to resurrect this cursed character anytime soon. Morbius is a walking red flag.
🔮 3. Madame Web – The Multiverse Misfire

Dakota Johnson as Madame Web had potential—on paper. But the movie was a chaotic mess. Bad editing, cringe dialogue, and a plot that felt like a TikTok fever dream. Johnson looked like she regretted signing the contract mid-scene. This should’ve been the female Doctor Strange of the Spider-Verse. Instead, it became a meme. Zero chance Marvel picks this up again.
🕸️ 4. Ezekiel Sims – Blink and You Miss Him

He had powers, lore but zero screen presence. Ezekiel Sims was barely relevant in Madame Web, despite being a major comic book figure tied to Spider-Man’s origin. The film didn’t even bother calling him “Spider-Man.” With such a lazy adaptation, there’s no saving him now. Into the multiverse trash bin he goes.
🎬 Who’s Next for Spidey?

With these banned Spider-Man villains out of the picture, rumor has it Mr. Negative might headline Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Finally, a villain that hasn’t been ruined by Sony. Let’s hope Marvel keeps it that way.
