The finale of “The Boys” Season 4 has been a cliffhanger and the build-up to the final season could not have been better with shocking moments.
Butcher’s Descent
Billy Butcher has now completely become a bad person. His terminal illness has made him aggressive and he is no longer in any way holding back. Butcher savagely dissects Victoria Neuman before her daughter and takes a new deadly virus from Frenchie. This is the last of any moral issues that he may have had concerning the extermination of all supes.
Homelander’s White House Chaos
Homelander’s plans of infiltrating the White House fail. Victoria Neuman changes her allegiance to protect her daughter, switch to The Boys’ side, and turn against Homelander. Sage, who is overconfident as always, tells a mourning Homelander that he has failed as per her expectations. President Calhoun’s ascension to the presidency and declaration of martial law places Homelander in command of a new army of superheroes.
The Boys’ Peril
As a result of martial law, The Boys disperse and attempt to hide. But Homelander’s forces attack them individually and they are killed one by one. Starlight is the only one who manages to get away with her powers coming back just in time to leave as Hughie gets captured. The last scene of the episode depicts Butcher on a car at night with the supe virus and Joe as his reflection sitting at the back seat.
Soldier Boy’s Shocking Return
The scene after the credits is about President Calhoun who has put Soldier Boy in a coma. Homelander’s father is alive which will cause more trouble and that is not all.
Gen V Crossover
It also connects to “Gen V. ” Cate Dunlap and Sam Riordan show up, and Kimiko and Frenchie are captured while The Boys try to avoid Homelander’s purge. This crossover suggests a lot of potential for the merge of storylines for the last season.
The fourth season of the show “The Boys” is filled with high-stakes, numerous plot twists, and a cliffhanger finale. Fans are left wondering: Is Soldier Boy’s return a game changer? What can The Boys do to avoid getting on Homelander’s bad side? The answers are found in the last season.
